What is Cloud Computing?

The term cloud computing was born between 2007. But nowadays, everyone is talking about “Cloud Computing – The Cloud.” Now the question comes “what is cloud computing”?

Let’s see below few definitions of Cloud computing:
  • Cloud computing, often referred to as simply “the cloud,” is the delivery of on-demand computing resources — everything from applications to data centers — over the internet on a pay-for-use basis.
  • Cloud computing consists of hardware and software resources made available on the Internet as managed third-party services.
  • Cloud computing is a type of computing that relies on shared computing resources rather than having local servers or personal devices to handle applications.
  • ERP Development Company in  Noida
  • Cloud computing is a kind of outsourcing of computer programs. Using cloud computing, users are able to access software and applications from wherever they need, while it is being hosted by an outside party — in “the cloud.”
In its most simple description, cloud computing is taking services ("cloud services") and moving them outside an organization's firewall. The services are delivered and used over the Internet and are paid on the basic of either as-needed or pay-per-use.

Cloud computing benefits:

Cloud computing is a big shift from the traditional way businesses to IT resources. Here are some common reasons organisations are turning to cloud computing services:

  • Cost: Cloud computing eliminates the expense of buying hardware and software and setting up and running on-site datacenters—the racks of servers, the round-the-clock electricity for power and cooling, the IT experts for managing the infrastructure.
  • Speed: Most cloud computing services are provided self service and on demand, so even vast amounts of computing resources can be provisioned in minutes, typically with just a few mouse clicks, giving businesses a lot of flexibility and taking the pressure off capacity planning.
  • Reliability: Because it is hosted by a third party, users have greater assurance of reliability, and when there are problems, easy access to customer support.
  • Pay per use: Users have to pay on the basis of uses.
  • Migration Flexibility: Organizations can move certain workloads to or from the cloud -- or to different cloud platforms -- as desired or automatically for better cost savings or to use new services as they emerge.
  • Secure: Cloud computing can also guarantee a more secure environment, thanks to increased resources for security and centralization of data.
This means that they do not have to worry about things such as storage and power, they can simply enjoy the end result.
